"SAFETY INSPECTION AND ASSESSMENT OF MEMORIALS IN BURIAL GROUNDS"

One full day course to be held in close proximity to a cemetery.  This course has been structured around the new Ministry of Justice guidelines "Managing the Safety of Burial Ground Memorials" and will focus on a 'Risk Assessment' based approach.  All aspects of memorial assessment will be covered in the course from understanding different types of natural stone and the way in which it changes with time, through to memorial construction and how this might impact decisions on safety.  The important area of 'making safe' will also be included.

The morning will be spent in the classroom studying in-depth theory and the afternoon will be spent putting the theory into practice.  Where students wish to obtain a formal qualification in the 'Safety Inspection & Assessment of Memorials' (and not all do) the training will be followed at a later date with an examination both written and practical.  This examination will last for half a day and successful candidates will be awarded a formal and nationally accredited qualification: the NAMM City & Guilds NPTC Certificate of Competence for the Safety Inspection and Assessment of Memorials".

The course fee is £300.00 + VAT per candidate (including lunch).  NAMM members - please visit members only section for details of pricing.

To take the City & Guilds Assessment costs an additional £250.00 + VAT per candidate.  (The fee includes City & Guilds LBS Registration.)
