MAB's Services

Cemetery of the Year:  MAB continues to run the very successful Cemetery of the Year Awards.  The awards work to raise standards in cemeteries, to make them better places to visit.  We believe this will in turn encourage more people to take an interest in memorialisation.  The Cemetery of the Year Awards also promote freedom of choice, once again benefiting memorial masons.  In 2005 there were a record 49 entries.

Leaflets:  MAB has produced a range of leaflets.  The Say it in Stone and Don't Scatter Fond Memories leaflets are designed to help memorial masons sell more stone.  The Ideal Cemetery and Defining Grave Spaces brochures are designed to encourage Cemetery Managers to offer more freedom of choice.

Most unusual memorial competition: In 2005 MAB launched a competition for the most unusual memorial in order to make the public aware that they don't have to limit themselves to a standard memorial.  The competition this year was won by Lidster's.  We hope the competition will grow year on year.

MAB Consultancy:  MAB provides a consultancy service for NAMM members.  Any NAMM members wanting help to generate press coverage locally can call MAB for free consultancy on 0207 7993 3833.

Seminars:  MAB has a history of running highly successful seminars.  In 2006 there is a seminar planned for May 3rd at the House of Commons.  Speakers will include Ian Hussein, on the subject of grave reuse, Ken West, on the subject of Freedom of Choice and Jenny Gregson on the subject of safety.  We hope this will generate a debate surrounding some of the questions raised by the consultation paper on Burial Law and Policy.  We will also display entries to the Cemetery of the Year Awards.
